Is 3.7 a good GPA for a nursing student?

Published

I am in Columbia for nursing. Would you say that a 3.7 GPA is considered competitive for jobs, grad school, etc?

Depends on the school. A GPA of 3.7 is a shoe-in for some......and on the low side of the application pile for others. I assume you mean that you are currently a pre-nursing student, with a pre-nursing GPA of 3.7, correct? I would think asking your advisor what the likelihood of acceptance to Columbia's nursing program would be the only valid way to go. People here could tell you that your GPA is great, don't worry, or they could tell you it's not good enough. What do their opinions matter? YOUR school's view on YOUR application (overall, btw, not just GPA) is what DOES matter.

Good luck!

Thanks! I am a current Columbia nursing student and that is my GPA so far.
