Is it financially prudent to go on for MSN/NP/DNP?

U.S.A. Massachusetts

I am finishing up my BSN at UMass Dartmouth and always intended to pursue my NP. Now with the new DNP standard, is it going to be profitable to continue on? I have read many threads about NP salaries and am wondering, besides the challenge, what is the benefit? I work in a community hospital with an hourly wage of 49.87. I work part-time 26 hours per week and make over 80,000 per year....Every post that I see reports NP's salaries at 60-80,000 per year and I believe that is full-time work. Can anyone give me a more accurate picture of the opportunities for NP's in our state? I don't want to go into debt 60,000.00 to make the same or less than I am making now...Thanks.

To make $49 dollar an hour part time I am assuming they have been in the union for many many years.

Here is the best site for NP jobs.... it is for the whole country.
