I was thankfully accepted to CSULB and CSUF for nursing. I am still deciding between the two, for I know that CSUF is direct admission whereas CSULB is prenursing. I am more inclined to CSULB because it is a better school than CSUF, but I'm nervous about the fact that I'm risking giving up an opportunity of direct admission to CSUF. Which program is better? And how competitive are they?

I would go to direct admission. CSULB's program is very competitive, so I wouldn't want to worry about it later. It seems you are coming out of high school, so I'll tell you what I've been told by nurses, the school you went to for ADN or BSN doesn't matter that much. What matters is if you pass the NCLEX and if you are a competent nurse. I went to CSULB for my undergrad and I would say the difference between CSULB and CSUF is minimal. I would say the school you go to matters more when you go towards a Master's or Doctorate program.
