Is it be better to take the NCLEX-RN in the US?

Published

Applying for a simple NCLEX-RN examination is confusing and is getting on my nerves; with every website telling me different things, different requirements, different tips. Anyway, my situation is this: I am a new RN in the Philippines and I all ready have a US Tourist Visa, could this help me in anyway to attain a green card or a permanent resident visa or a change of status or of some kind if I were to take the NCLEX-RN in the United States? Would this make it easier and faster to: (1.) find work, (2) change or adjust visa status to stay longer in the country and, (3) speed up the process in applying for the NCLEX-RN examinations? And Lastly, do I really need to take CGFNS when other US States clearly don't require it (which is why I'm confused ). Please help! Any suggestions, advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks. :lol2:

You are not applying for NCLEX but licensure to be a nurse in the US. Each state has their own requirements and you have to meet them. Having a tourist visa does not make anything easier or quicker. You are still caught up in retrogression and currently looking at several years wait for a GC. If the state doesn't require CGFNS exam then you do not have to do it (only approx 4 that still require it) however many do use CGFNS and get CES report so if that is required then you have to get it done
