Is this a Bad Studying Habit ?????

Published

Hi everyone, I;m preparing for Nclex with Saunders, Delmar Thompson and online Excell from Drexel. I'm an intl. nurse being recruited, my first language is Spanish but I'm fluent in english, yet, I find my self continuosly filling the sample questions in learning mode, (you know, having the chance to see the answer as soon as I click next) Do you thing that this is a bad habit??? Do you have any rec. cause I found this to be a HARD HABIT TO BREAK???

That is the only way I studied with my Kaplan qbank and Saunders CD. I did study only mode for the practice questions, and I passed NCLEX RN first time around with 75 questions. I think doing it in study mode was beneficial (at least for me) because I could read through the rationale right away before moving onto the next question. If it was something I really didn't understand or needed to look up, then I'd make a note if it right then and there.

That's how it worked for me as well. And I also passed w/ 76 questions on my first attempt. I only did the self-test mode 2x and then I would stop and start, always walking away from the computer. It actually stressed me out and was a poor way to study b/c I didn't find out whether I was correct or not until I finally finished the test and then had to review it all over again. ;)
