Hi! I am starting the CNA class, on Halloween, at SWIC, in Belleville. I was hoping to meet a few people on here before I start class. Is anyone else starting the same six week CNA class?

Hi I'm starting a CNA class on Monday at a local community college in va beach va. I'm nervous and anxious at the same time

Hi! I feel exactly the same way. I am changing careers. I registered for this class this spring, but I ended up having to drop it due to not being able to afford to pay for it. I am excited to finally get started!

I'm changing careers too. I had been wanting to start a CNA program for awhile but was finally blessed with the opportunity to go. We should keep each other posted on how it goes.

We should definitely stay in contact. How exciting! Good luck!

I previously worked at a credit union as an accounting assistant, before becoming a stay at home mom two years ago. I am hoping to someday become an RN, but I feel that becoming a CNA first will help me decide if this is right for me. What field are you changing from?

I worked in customer service for Panasonic. Hated it. I always had a passion to work in the healthcare field. I'm currently finishing up my prereqs for BSN program here at a magnet hospital. I'm praying to get into it and crossing my fingers that once I become a cna I get a job with them as well.

Congrats on finishing up your prerequs! It sounds like you are almost there! Keep up the good work!

I am just beginning my journey. I have a bachelor degree in business administration, but I have not taken any of the science classes, psychology, or sociology. I took medical terminology this spring and I loved it. I'm going to start my science classes this spring, after the holidays. I am hoping to find a job as a CNA that offers tuition reimbursement. My biggest setback, thus far, has been financial. I am at my aggregate loan limit for undergraduate studies, so I must pay for everything out of pocket.

Find if there are any programs in your area that offers assistance if you are going into the health care field. Where I stay there is a place that receives funding. They give up to 10k to a medical program. This same program paid for my CNA course, books, and uniforms. So by jan 2014 (with prayer) I start the BSN program here and receive the funding for it. The cost of the program is 24k so I would only be responsible for 14k and I can use grants and scholarships for that.
