IRSC Fall 2019 hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi, I was wondering who is planning on applying at IRSC for the fall 2019 semester? I know it's still early but applications will be due before we know it. I'm hoping to set up a forum where we all support each other by sharing what we are doing to prepare for the NLN. I bought the red book and also an APP called NLNPAX. I prefer the APP because I can review a couple of questions during my downtime without committing a lot of time. I think repetition is key.

Good luck and happy studying!

Hello all, I took the NLN on Monday I got 138 and have a total of 166! Hopefully that is enough to get in fingers crossed!!

Hey there! I just took the NLN today. My total including A&P I and my NLN score is 164. I am taking Micro Summer B but it will not count towards my app because I am taking it so late (unfortunately). Holding my breath and praying that I will get in despite lacking the micro points. Best of luck to everyone!!

I took the NLN and got a 133 with a total score of 153 with my classes. Not feeling much hope but still waiting for the email. ? Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone,

I took the NLN for the first time on Tuesday and didn’t know what to expect. I only had less than a week to study after taking 4 classes in the spring to bring up my GPA. I got a composite of 129 and 31 from my AP1 and Micro, so I got 160 in total. I’m not sure if I should be worried or glad. Does anyone know how many applicants they accept every registration period?

I took the NLN this morning. Got a composite score of 160 for a total of 192.

Wow! That’s an amazing score. You’re in for sure. How did you study for it? I know the red book was a big help, but it’s been forever since I had taken physics and chemistry, so the science section was my weakest in the result.

I took the hesi last year so the studying for that probably helped some. I used the red NLN study guide along with both mcgraw's. I read all the subject matter in all three books and took all the practice exams multiple times. I also utilized the nln prep on their website along with the bonus exams. I've been studying daily for the last month.

Hello! I took my NLN this morning and received a 131. I am graduating high school this weekend, and am aware that they give preference to those with a 125 or higher, A's or B's in bio and a&P1, and a GPA of 3.2 or higher. I meet all of these requirements and have a total score of 160. Does anyone have an idea on my chances of getting into the RN program?

If you met those requirements my understanding is you are in.

On the online packet it says that preference is given. I called the nursing department earlier and they said those who meet those requirements and are graduated high school six months prior, will be selected first. I am worried if my score is good enough to get in. From what I've seen those with my score (160) are sometimes admitted, but sometimes chosen as alternates. But I am wondering if I have a better chance because of their preference policy in the application packet on the website.

164 is amazing with out micro that is great!!! Good luck to you everything I have researched you should have no problem getting in

From my understanding you will get preference as long as you have a 3.25 score 125 or higher, but what I was told is you will not be put above say someone who gets a total of 170 point, you would be ahead of everyone who has your total points. The woman running the info session said they start at the top points and work their way down through the requirements and gpas. you should be good I had a friend last fall get in with a 160 and a friend who got an alternate at 158 and got in
