Hi....
Tody we admit baby hydrocephalues 32 weeks with intrauterine vp shunt, which D\C at 10 min of age..can anyone help me to find any articules about intrauterine vp shunt, if possible....I try to search in the net without benifit...

using quotes around things when you google them makes a big difference in the type of results you'll get. i googled the exact phrase "intrauterine shunt" hydrocephalus so that i'd get more specific results.

Interesting. I've never seen one and I guess I never will if they feel it's not worth the risk.
I thought the same thing. I mean, there are those horrible cases of hydrocephalus we've all seen at some point in the NICU and maybe for those it might help. But most of the time a shunt or ventriculostomy after birth works pretty well and is safer so I don't see this becoming a common surgery.
