Interviewing at an infusion center... any tips?

So I currently work as an oncology nurse. Love oncology, hate the bedside. So I've applied for and have an interview in the infusion center of a prominent medical center here in Seattle. Any tips or suggestions on how to relate to or impress the interviewer???

Thanks!

Your experience with chemotherapeutic agents will help

1 Let them know all the types of VADS you are familiar with.....PIVS Ports..PICCs...tunneled..apheresis...care of..troubleshooting

2 The pts seen in OP infusion suites will often have chronic illnesses that require ongoing IV treatments such as Remicade and IVIG or disease process such as hemochromatosis that may require therapeutic phlebotomy...so emphasize that you are very eager to learn about anything that you do not know...BUT that you have a strong background in IV Therapy b/c of your Oncology experience. Of course you will have your acutes as well

3 Personally I always listen for any indication that aanyone I am interviewing has a passion for IV therapy and OP infusion and not JUST THAT they liked the hours and limited weekends (or whatever). of course those are factors..BUT when I hear them first when I ask Why are you interested in this particular position and I hear one of those first....I tend not to hire those RNS unless there is some other indication during the rest of the interview that they have some passion about this kind of nursing.

4 let them know you are familiar with all types of blood products

5...its critical that you convey that you can get along well with others....you work well under pressure....you have excellent critical thinking skills...you can work in a fast paced enviroment and multi task when needed..and that you are good at conflict resolution..have some examples ready in your mind of any difficult situation you encountered in a clinical setting and how you resolved it...remember its not always about how much you know...its your work ethic..how you interact with others..deal with conflict..what you do if you are uncertain about how to do something.....let me know if I can help in any other way..this is just a fast suggestion
