I just got a call for an interview at a behavioral center. I'm an LPN and have worked in corrections, nursing homes and most recently assisted living. There are a few Alzheimer patients on one wing where I work now and some of them can be challenging at times, but they can pretty much do and go where they want. I'm sure its much different at the behavior center though. I like my current job and its close to home. Problem is there is no future in it as the pay is bad and there are no benefits besides free food. My financial situation is'nt good with student loans and other bills, but I "should" be able to make it if I pick up days at my PRN job and make it to bonus at the year mark, but it will always be a struggle, unless of course I can meet somebody someday and possibly share expenses.
This job is through the state of Ohio and I know they pay excellent and the benefits are really good. But I thought they were located in Toledo, so I looked up the address and its in Cleveland, which would be a 2 1/2 hour drive for me. Plus the interview is set up for the middle of the day in the middle of my 3 12 hour shifts next week. What do you guys think? Do you think its too far away or worth a shot? I know I would have to sell my house if I got it, which I really don't have a problem with, but there is work I wanted to do to it to get it sell-able. I do have some family in this area, but don't know anyone in eastern Ohio. Oh, and I don't have a suit (jacket), never had one. Will a nice shirt and tie suffice if I should go?
anybody? I'm thinking its too far away now. think I should at least call them and let them know?
