Interview Shadow Day

I was fortunate to finally have a break in the job hunt after months of searching! I had an interview at a hospital last week and now I'll be shadowing a nurse this week for an 8-hour-shift. Any tips?

Yeah I just did that. I graduated in December 09 (a couple of months ago) and have tried to make my application competitive for the OR since I started the program. However, to do the OR interviews, I had to give up a job in the ER that I had been almost fully hired for (short of signing a contract). Well, I got 3 OR interviews after that and for one of them, I had to do an observation day. What I did was bond with the people I was shadowing, acted interested, let them know I wasn't stupid, asked them personal questions about the job, shared some laughs (a lot actually) and then they said they'd recommend me (I was thinking I would need it for 1 job out of 35 applicants). Anyways, they hired me as well as did another OR in another city and now I'm waiting to start at the formentioned. Not only did I choose the hospital that I shadowed at because I worked there, but I got a REALLY good feeling about it when I was there. Be yourself (unless yourself isn't the kind of person they'll want working with them... in which case pretend to be!) and know that if you fit in, they'll know and like you and recommend you to work there. Otherwise it may be a blessing in disguise that you didn't get hired. Anyways, YOU'LL DO GREAT!
