Interview questions for school, Nurse Informatics

Published

I am currently busy with my MSN, (University of San. Fran) and have to interview a Nurse informatics but the Sutter group I work for in Santa Rosa, CA, don't have any and because I don't work for St. Joseph or Kaiser they are not accommodating. Hope somebody could answer some of these questions. I truly would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Wilma

• What led you to nursing informatics/health informatics? Specific graduate degree in that area? Clinical nurse first?

• What is your background in a nutshell? How did you get to your position and what is your exact title?

• You are a great facilitator of the multidisciplinary team that worked towards our EHR implementation at HDH, do you play the same role in all your projects?

• How best can staff nurses assist in the process of EHR (design, planning, implementation, evaluation)?

• What are the top 3 things that create a smooth EHR implementation?

• How can nurses better themselves and stay up with where health informatics is going in our country?

• What role do you see EHR playing in the regulations that the government has put forth---MU, Medicare Regs like readmission, hospital acquired infections, etc.

• What is your vision of the future of healthcare in 10 years?

• What can nurse leaders do to support the future? (Managers, Clinical Nurse Leaders, Charge Nurses, Superusers)

• Is telehealth connected to informatics? In what way? Do you envision telehealth as a good thing? (reaching patients in rural areas unable to travel to medical care, etc?)

• Do you help with research, and maybe share a project you worked on.
