Interview process

Published

I am looking to apply for an accelerated alternate entry MSN program for students who hold baccalaureate degrees in unrelated fields in December 2009 for fall 2010 entry. I am confident that I will be a competitive candidate for this program. My husband and I were thinking of getting pregnant next Spring which would render me about 7 months pregnant when I have my interview. Honestly, would people recommend me NOT being visibly pregnant during the interview?? I'm afraid that being pregnant might weaken my chances. Maybe they will think I have too much on my plate or something. However, I don't want to delay my pregnancy because I don't want an infant six months or younger when I start the program because then it WILL be too much on my plate. I have a 11 month old now, so I feel confident that a 6 mos+ child will be manageable while in my program. Moreover, delivering prior to the interview would mean I would be getting pregnant in early 2009 and I would be exposed to various chemicals while in laboratory courses that I need to take in the Spring to qualify for the program. What would you recommend? I know they "technically" can not descriminate on the basis on being with child but people can always find other reasons for disqualification when in doubt? Any opinions?
