questions for interview include

1. title 66h8a my mos (military occupation speciality is 66h=rn, my asi or additional skill identifier is 8a=critical care
2. job employed at currently deployed oif 09-11 at 28th combat support hospital (csh) in iraq but when i redeploy to the rear i will be working in the combined intensive care unit at william beaumont army medical center (wbamc) /fort bliss el paso, texas
3. number of years at current job since my pcs (permanent change of station) to fort bliss was in 2008 it has been 2 years (including this deployment)
4. what type of licensure do you have & how often is it renewed it is an rn license and must be renewed every 3 years
5. are continuing education credits required to remain at your current job & if so how many per year or per what time period i need to maintain my military bearing and that means keeping current with my army ceus (if you will) and by taking and passing the medcen required "stuff" and by keeping physically fit
6.please describe some of things you do daily at your job right now i work 12 hour night shift in the combined icu. i work usually 6 days out of 7 but if patient acuity is high or we have a mascal i would work as many shifts as needed in a row (the worst was 9 in a row without a day off) i am oic (officer in charge) of the other 66h8as and 68wm6s (lpns): we manage the unit and take care of the patients the best we can in this asture environment
7. what do you like best about your job providing the best care i can to our wounded and ill soldiers/airmen/seamen/host nation civilians and soldiers and contract workers both northamerican and foreign nation
8. what do you like least about your job when a patient whether service member or civilian dies despite our best efforts (especially the pediatric burn patients.......that makes me cry.....)
9. what is the worst thing about your job see # 8
10. do you have malpractice concerns no
11. do you carry malpractice insurance not while in the military. when i was civilian i did
12. would you encourage someone else to enter your career & why or why not yes...not everyone should be in the military but i would encourage people to think about a nursing career. i am a very vocal supporter of our profession as a whole
