Interview with HH tomorrow

Published

Tomorrow I have an interview for a full time (40 hours/week daytime) HH position. Since I have only been in acute care as an RN, I'm not sure what questions I will be asked or what questions TO ask.

I already know a couple of things about this position:

~Pay is hourly, and is unionized

~HH is attached to the hospital where I am currently a staff RN

~You use your own car, but get 50 cents a mile (subject to change w/ gas price)

~The website says they employ CNAs, LPNs, RNs, PT and OT and that they "provide a full spectrum of care".

~They also do hospice, but I believe that is a separate position from being hired to HH.

I've found that there are a lot of mixed feelings regarding home health care on this forum. How can I tell if it is the right job for me?

Hope to get some responses before my interview tomorrow :)

It sounds like a wonderful company. Graduated from nursing school 2008 was a CNA for about 2years before that. Worked at a hospital for 18 months. Became a RN case manager for a HH company 7 months ago.

I only was out with a nurse for 1.5 weeks then on my own started with 5pts a day. I just keep going day by day and ask questions. Doing the best I can with paperwork have had many questions to answer. Was told that if I worked for another agency I may have beed fired because my paperwork is not up to par. Started typing all my daily notes and try doing my best.

Wish I had a longer orientation and wish we were computerized. Have been seeing 6-10 pt a day that can include opens to. Then coming home doing 1-2 hrs paperwork. AND seeing 1-4 pts on saturdays.

Good luck hope you get the job sounds like a great company.

Hey everyone, just wanted to give you a quick update.

I was offered the position based on if I pass my drug screen/background check :)

Orientation would start May 2nd!

Congratulations! Hope you love it as much as I do!
