I’m literally frozen with fear when comes to interviews. I’ve tried finding nurse interview coaches online but no luck. I know I’m smart but can’t figure out why I’m struggling so much trying to answer basic interview questions. I’ve been stuck on “Tell me about yourself “ for three damn days. I finally broke down & cried. I’ve been unemployed for two years. I really want to work back on the floor. I know it’s stress but I love how fast pace it is & the challenges that come with it. I love the adrenaline rush of acute care. Please help??

Honestly, a lot of us have jitters interviewing people too. An interview is about us making a good impression just as much as the interviewee. We expect you to have hesitations. We don't want someone who is robotic.
"Tell me about yourself"- Name, education, work experience, anything else you deem important
"Where do you see yourself in 1 year?"- I'm hoping you answer working with us because otherwise we waste orientation time with you
"Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"- Growth is good. Strive for greatness. You may be with us, you may not be. Our goals as managers is to get you to your goals. If we don't know your goals we can't help.
A lot of people, myself included, get way too caught up on figuring out the perfect answers before an interview. Don't. As long as you know yourself you'll do just fine representing yourself. Now if a potential employer has pretests then I'd consider studying.
I'm getting to this post late so maybe you have good news, any update?
Hi, thank you for responding. I practiced interview questions & then finally applied for a position. I did exactly what you had suggested & now I’m starting orientation this Thurs. I worked myself up when the interview wasn’t as bad as I had thought. Thank you so much for your advice:-)
Awesome! Congratulations!
