Hi there, I'm Zhakrin's girlfriend. I am a 4th year student nurse who is graduating in April. In Ontario, you have to have a job offer, and sign a form from the COllege, then the hospital sends the offer to the College of Nurses. Once your temp license is issued, you can start to work, AND get paid at the starting RN rate until you write your RN exam. Once you write it though, if you tank, they take that away & you are SOL until you write again. I'm not sure what happens if you're from the US. Hope that helps!
The RN exam is written manually on a "Scantron" sheet (fill in the bubbles). If you fail you can appeal it, and have it scored manually (somebody reads your Scantron sheet & makes sure the computer marked it right or wrong). Sometimes if you don't fill in the bubbles all the way, or if you don't erase one completely, the computer picks it up as 2 answers for the same question, thus marks it wrong or incomplete.
The results should take 3 to 4 weeks to receive by snail mail.
