Hi All,

I am a new grad from Denamrk. I graduated in may and am now taking a two moths long vacation in Dallas, TX viciting my fionce and boyfriend through 6 years. After the two months I go back to Denmark to work as a nurse. My fionce is american and still in school and therefore I wish to get a job in the U.S. so that we can start living a normal life together again.

I know that in order to get a licence to work as a nurse in TX I need to take the TOEFL, the CGFNS and the NCLEX-RN. After that I need to find a job in order to get a visa. It will take me about a year to take the tests (that is if I pass them on the first upcomming test dates), on top of that come the time looking for a job and the whole visa process.

After living a long distance relationship for the last 4 years my biggest wish is to be able to move to the U.S. as soon as possible, so if anybody has any experiences with this or any advise I would be very thankful. I have also heard about the opportunity to get short term visa's due to the nursing shortage, does anybody know anything about that? or who I can contact to get information on that?

Hi. Have you contacted any US travel companies to see what info/assistance that they offer? They usually have the info, since they want to get you over here to work for them. Good Luck!!

Please, contact the US-consulate, Visa-section with your question.

The nearest consulate is in Copenhagen, as far as I know.

Good luck to you!
