Hello everyone,

I am 29 years male Egyptian nurse with a master degree. In my country, we do not have a national exam for certification (After getting the bachelor degree, I can practice nursing immediately). I am looking to get the NCLEX-RN from the United states. I googled the web and found some guidance but I am still confused and need someone to help me in the following:

1. How can I choose the BON to take the exam in? (I have not decided where I want to work in the future)

2. If I take the exam in any state (California for example), can I work in another state (Washington for example? or should I take another exam for the other state?

3. What documents should I prepare? (I read that it differs among states, but I can not find something specific for non-American nurses)

Note: My education and clinical experience in critical care and emergency nursing are good. The spoken language of my nursing school is English and all text books I have studied and all tests were in English. Also, I have written my master thesis in English.

If any one wanna contact me in person, I really appreciate.

Thanks in advance

once sat and passed NCLEX you don't have to generally sit it again. You will still have to meet state requirements.

To be honest you need to decide which state to decide on living and working in and check out their website on requirements and only then can you see what information is required

1. Choose the state u want to work in.

2. Once u passed NCLEX in one state u can endorse it to another, so it is valid.

3.Browse through the different BON website because their application varies from state to state. Some uses cgfns ces or cvs for nysed to verify ur education and licenses, other state do it themselves.
