Hello,
Congratulations for passing the NCLEX! I just need some help. I also want to apply in the state of New York, but you said that it took 8 months for processing. What did you do first to apply? Did you send application to the NY first (was it CVS) or the CGFNS first? Do you have to take the IELTS, too. Please help me. I have no one to ask for processing my papers, and it is so confusing, I don't want to waste time and waste money. I went to an agency to process papers but they don't give help unless I sign up with them and let them do the job, but it was too expensive, I can't afford. I hope you find time to answer my questions. God Bless. I am from Philippines.

CVS is required first before the BON will look at your file. There are already a few threads in this forum discussing NY so may be worth a search
Moved to a thread on it's own in the International forum
Thanks for the help...as I am really confused what state to apply...if it is NY, NJ or other state.. that has less requirements. God bless.
Which state do you wish to work in?

It's best to apply to the state that you want to work in as it's beneficial financially. Some people apply to states that don't require a ss# just to obtain a license. The license is useless because they can't legally work in the US at the current time. But at the sametime they have the license ready if they ever get the opportunity to work in the US. Then you're looking at fees once again to endorse into another state that may or may not accept your application because you have to go through the whole long process that an international nursing graduate must go to. It's rough all around but do what you feel is beneficial to you. Good Luck
