Intermitten PCN???

Published

Okay so... As I job hunt, I come across a few things I have not heard of. A position was available for a PCN (intermitten) the requirements didn't say "atleast 1 years nursing experience" like just about every other job I have come across lately. So I really want to apply.. However, I am not entirely sure what the difference is from RN. Can anyone help me out?! What does this mean exactly and would this be a good position for a new grad nurse?? Thank you for the help!!!!!

Does the job posting list what the expectations would be? I'm not sure what they mean by PCN. That can stand for many things, so without the context of the job posting it's hard to say for sure. For example, it could be Parent Child Nursing, Patient Care Network, and more.

It sounds like a facility for disabled pts I thought primary care nurse?? Description sounds like basic RN with maybe some additional desk work. As far as check in and payments and such. Thanks for the reply!

It sounds like it is outpatient. That means you might not get to use the clinical skills you learned in school. If you don't want to be a bedside nurse, then that won't be an issue, but if you want to do bedside nursing, it may be harder to get into that type of nursing later on. If you apply and get an interview, be prepared to ask them questions about the position and what your responsibilities will be.

seaofcloudsthank you! That was somewhat my fear. It did describe some clinic skills but not many. I really need a job, and have def opened up to taking anything, not just wanting a hospital job(which I really want! Lol) to get in and get some experience... However I want to you the skills I have leaned as well. Thank you for the response! That helps a lot! I guess I can apply and see what happens. I may not even hear back... Like the other 200+apps I have filled out lately lol :(
