inquiry regarding SEC in CRNBC

Hello. Im Ric, an internationally educated nurse. I just arrived Vancouver, BC a month ago. I submitted my application in CRNBC and I also attended the information seminar. It seemed to me that the college is implementing a more strict assessment process and they now require nurses who are internationally educated to undergo SEC. Anybody here who have already undergone the said assessment? Is SEC mandatory to all internationally educated nurses who wish to be licensed here in BC or they only choose depending on the individual's credentials? If required to take refresher courses after assessment, how long does it usually take and how much does it cost? thank you...
