Input Ft. Pierce area nursing work

Can I get some feedback on the Ft. Pierce and Port Saint Lucie nursing culture and pay scales? Pretty please? :)

I live in Port Saint Lucie and have interveiwed at most of the area hospitals. New grads around here generally start at 19-22/hr in the hospitals for full-time with benefits. Per diem is about 28-20/hr. You would obviously get more with more experience. There is one hospital in Fort Pierce (Lawnwoon Regional Medical Center) and one is PSL (St Lucie Medical Center), both of which are for-profit hospitals owned by HCA. Just north in Vero Beach is Indian River Memorial Hospital (which I believe is a non-profit). Sebastian River Medical center in Sebastian (where I work) is about 40 minutes or so from Fort Pierce. Just south of port saint lucie is Martin Memorial Medical Center (in Stuart). Feel free to PM me if you'd like with any other questions.

Bumping this up to see if I can get more input from anyone else in the Port Saint Lucie area and find some people who live and work around there.

Hi can you tell me about St Lucie Medical Center....staffing ratios and what the environment is like? Any info would be appreciated! :D

I have worked at "Lawnwood Regional medical center" in Fort Pierce for several years and in different units. It can be a good or terrible place to work depending on the unit and the manager. It's busy during the season, and often understaffed. They can be crazy in the amout of documentation that you have to do. The pay is in line with the region's avrage. The CVSD and CVICU are the best units in that facility.:loveya:
