Hello,
long story short, I am about to begin a new job in three weeks in an ICU and earlier today, I suffered a dislocated finger, I will require surgery, and I’m looking at being out for 6-8 weeks, maybe more. At least on the bright side however, I am very financially prepared. However, My question is, since I am currently unable to fulfill the physical duties of the job right now, is it possible for them to rescind the offer?

Yup and they may very well do so. However if you can convey your excitement and subsequent disappointment in a way where that seems very genuine they may work with you. They may have you focus on charting etc if they do.
