Injured at work

A year and a half I was injured at work and went for shoulder surgery. I still have a lot of pain and the ortho thinks I may need another surgery this time to the front of the shoulder. This is a rare surgery and with being cut off by WCB, it could take another year just to see the surgeon than can fix it. I need to find some type of work that will save my house....any suggestions? Please help!!

Specializes in ICU.

Try to get off the floor work, get into computer documentation office. I work in the clinical documentation office, I broke my leg last week and I get to work from home until I can walk again. Look into case management, moving up the ladder as a team leader or director. I don't know your education level.

Specializes in Corrections, Psych, Med-Surg.

Since it is anything but clear what your current abilities are, any useful answer is improbable. Can you use a computer, hands-free phone, calculatior, write? We don't know how your shoulder or pain limit you, you see. If you can use these kinds of normal office objects, you might think of becoming a telephone triage nurse, WC phone nurse, etc. If you can't use these objects, I'd suggest going on disability.
