Nurses and Nurse Students,
Some of you have already walked this path. You give your all for our beloved patients and sacrifice time and again. Then, one day, what you thought would never happen does.....you are injured on the job. Suddenly, you may find yourself with very little support.......If there are nurses on here who have been injured, I would LOVE to hear from you. I would like to see more support be given to our Injured Commrades.....Believe me, after 16 years NEVER being injured on the job, I realize how quickly this can ALL change and we become injured and unwanted in our life's profession that most of us have sacrificed greatly for. The place we are working at may not let us change over to clinical nursing for many reasons......inavailability......never having worked in that area "before" and they don't want to help us go there now....many things happen to the injured nurses.......I would be glad to share my story thus far and definately would LOVE to hear yours! The likelihood of nurses being injured is extremely HIGH....so take a minute...do something good for yourself (Yeah, you! The caretaker who often takes care of yourself LAST).....don't hide your head as an ostrich.......you owe yourself the favor of knowing the facts regarding injury and the nursing career. Post me/email me or contact me in any way you would like to. Thanks, The Bird with the clipped wing
