I must be having a "brain fart" today....
I know that for Medicare patients we are required to provide them with the Notice of Medicare Provider Non-Coverage not less than two days prior to discharge.
But... I think that there is a reg somewhere (maybe a State Reg, Illinois?) that states we have to initiate DC no less than three days prior. I cannot remember where I have read this, and of course I can't find it now!
Can anyone help me?

I don't know the specifics of your state, but I do know if it's the patient's request, it's when they request it.....
I should have been more specific, I'm asking about the amount of notice to the pts the agency has to give before we discharge, not at pt's request.
I believe it's 5 days verbal and 2 days written. But, I wouldn't bet $$ on it. I'll see if I can find out better information.
