Getting scared now!!!!

Lately I've been reading some negative posts on Med-Surg nursing. I am now on day 3 of orientation, and am getting concerned wether I can handle this or not. Have 6 yrs. LTC experience which is nothing like hosp. nurs. I will be working the 7/70 scedule on nocs. Have never worked this shift before and hope I will be able to keep up the pace. Not that young anymore either. I do want to do well, and am trying to keep a positive attitude. How about some good stories from you Med- Surg nurses. Whats your pt. ratio and is it doable? Any pointers on fitting in with current staff? What are some things that upset you about orientating new nurses? Any suggestions would surely be appreciated. Thanks.
