Information about volunteering for the American Red Cross?

Hi, I am currently in Atlanta, GA, and tried to volunteer with the American Red Cross after hearing so many stories about tropical storm Isaac. Does anyone have experience with disaster volunteer work as an RN? What is the training like? How many hours/days do they send you out for? Can you tell them specifically if you can only go for the weekend, a week, or anything specific?

How long does it usually take before they call you back to start your orientation?

Does the training they have you do count towards the mandatory in-service we have to do every year for our licenses?

I would really appreciate any information anyone can give me. Thanks!
