We are really striving hard this year to increase the number of nurses who apply for this program. It is a great opportunity - note that while the program is located in the School of Medicine, our title is the Division of Health Sciences Informatics. It is a truly interdisciplinary training program. Please read on....................

The Division of Health Sciences Informatics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine offers an exciting opportunity for individuals to participate in an Informatics Training Fellowship. This interdisciplinary program selects candidates from the disciplines of basic science, clinical science, library science, nursing, and public health. The two-year fellowship begins on July 1, 2005. Full consideration will be given to applications received by February 15, 2005. Positions will be offered by April 15, 2005. See http://dhsi.med.jhmi.edu/content/admissions.html for complete program information.

Five fellows are accepted each year. Fellowships are open to any health professional with a terminal degree (MD, PhD, DVM, DDS, MLS), and nursing, public health, library, and computer science professionals with master's degrees. Candidates for the National Library of Medicine-funded fellowship must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, as stipulated by our source of funding. Stipend range is $30,926 - $61,243 based on current NIH standards and is determined by the candidates' years of prior relevant experience and degree. Tuition and health insurance are paid by the fellowship program.

A Masters degree in Health Sciences Informatics has now been integrated into the Fellowship (new for this cohort!).
