Info on Nurse's Aide jobs at Somerset Medical Center

Published

Anyone out there who knows the details of Somerset's program?

How about the pay there? I know in general CNA's make 9-10 an hour, but I'm curious if the pay is any better at SMC.

Also, is the CNA certification required if you are a nursing student, or will they hire you if you are in an RN program and allow you to get the CNA certification as soon as you can sit for the exam?

Any info is greatly appreciated - I'd like to work there, but I want to make sure it's do-able!

Thanks...

Hi WCD,

I know you had mentioned SMC however, I work at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington as a Nurse Intern. The position is given to nursing students who are currently in school who have completed the fundamentals portion with a C or better. They pay more than $10 an hour with shift differential. I have worked at this hospital in the past before going to nursing school and had nothing but positive experiences. The staff is team oriented and loves to teach and show me things. You can do a google search for Hunterdon Medical Center and on their site go to the career opportunities page. Click on nursing and nurse intern positions will pop up. I know there are a few available. I would highly recommend this as they are flexible with your schedule and you will learn a great deal!!

If you have any questions feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Good Luck!

Good morning all
