inexperienced CNA finding a job

Published

How hard will it be for me to find a job as a CNA with no experience. I am currently taking a CNA course and will take the FL state exam on December 16th. I am really starting to worry about this issue and need to know if I am just adding more stress to myself or not. I am really concerned about passing my clinicals on the state exam. I know I will pass the written, I got a 100 on the sample test. The clinicals is what I am worried about. I can't seem to get the blood pressure. I went from patient to patient (actually fellow students) and told them they were all DEAD because I never found a pulse or heard anything from the stethoscope!!!!! OMG---I need to practice, practice, practice. I am so stressed out.

Doesnt your school or program have a job placement office. Almost all the programs whether it be cna,rn,lpn, medical assistant specialist, pharmacy tech..... have job placement assistance as apart of the program.

Just keep practicing! I passed my clinicals last Thursday, practiced until I thought I was going to get sick, then practiced some more! I still froze at the test...(not good at testing) - but passed. I have never wanted something so much as to pass! STRESSED OUT? no kidding.

Do your research at the places you feel you want to work. My school had recruiters come in from home healthcare - they are always hiring. Especially in Florida. Good luck! What part of Florida are you from?

I am from Jacksonville. There are plenty of retirement homes down here let me tell you. My instructor said that past students started working immediately after passing state exams, so that made me feel better.

I don't think you will have a problem. There are plenty of LTC's if that is what you want to do! We do live in FL.

Good Luck! I see that you are about the same age as me....starting over? I was in the business world...this will be a little different. Looking forward....
