Indiscrimination By Pscyh Nurse Manager

yesterday i came to work amidst slit, slippery road, one hour commute and thunder and lightning for my 11-7 shift and was told by pm senior charge nurse that the census was low and that i have to work x2 hours and go home. :argue::argue:i was supposed to be charge that shift and be told to work x2 hours only...i dont think so.:no: so i left the unit and called the night staff that i will be off for the rest of the week although i dont have a job on board yet.before i went to work yesterday , i called the unit AT 9PM to talk to charge nurse if i am working or not...AND i was told by secretary that my name was not circled...census was high and that i can go to work ...as for the moment charge nurse were in computer class...i know ...this is the only place i know where full time night staff sleep all day and call the unit 2 hours before the start of shift to ask if our census is low and if we are still working.:banghead:we work on a staffing grid and we get cancelled x2 hours before shift starts including techs and clerks...

1. our nurse manager accomodates certain nurses (ie am the only asian nurse in the unit) everybody are either black/white ....never worked in a unit where everybody is a part timer ie meaning a .1 rn who gets full time check each shift worked meaning getting a 125 dollar bonus each time they clocked in . nobody wants to work full time bec they dont want to miss out on the almighty dollar.

2. the part timers never get sent home and i am the only one get sent home bec she thinks she can walk over me:down:

3. i worked in medical pscy and we have outpatient/inpatient ects and i refused to stay over on monday morning bec i am not trained to work there ie conscious sedation....she ended up coming at 6am monday morning and told me (i work full time nights) "since u refused to go down to ect....i will make sure to mess up your check" and laughed and went down with agency nurse.:smokin:talk about power and control.THIS COMMENT REALLY BOTHERS ME BEC SHE WONT GIVE US A COMPUTERIZED TIME SHEET IF SHE CAN HELP IT bec her reasoning is why would we employees need it..does it mean we dont trust her doing pay roll? as for ECT, MAN, IF I DONT FEEL COMFORTABLE ...I WONT DO IT....she got poed bec none of her million part time friends and everybody including pm charge nurse refusing to go down to ect....the ect regular nurses were on vacation......only x2 nurses were adequately trained from day shift....none from evening or nights....

sorry if this is so long....this is almost like a book...but i had to ventilate if anybody in this situation before.????..my friend told me not to quit before finding another pscy job but i feel my delusional boss has gone out of control and i needed to run up the hill fast....thanks for your help in advance...i really enjoy pscyh nursing....:smokin::smokin:and thanks for listening to me ventilate:eek::eek:
