Seeing the video, i can say it is NEGLIGENCE, no matter how short staffed a hospital is, it is not an EXCUSE to allow a patient to lie there and DIE. And if the hospital were really short staffed, how come that no one took care of the patient? the patient was sitting there for 24 hours!

This is definitely not normal in any state or locale in the world. Had absolutely nothing to do with staffing, but they also had the patient in the lobby there for 24 hours and that is not acceptable behavior as well.
Let alone that staff then falsified records about what she was doing at a certain time, but the fact was that things were recorded and she was already on the floor and even dead when they posted that she was sitting in the chair and had just gone to the bathroom. And they were caught, that is the best of it.
6 people have lost their jobs over this and chances of them ever working in healthcare ever again are going to be quite slim. More than likely, those that hold a license will be losing it as well. And there was even a physician that was involved with this as well.
Shame on all of them.:angryfire

I saw on Fox the other day that there was this woman who stood up and scrolled on the floor and eventually died with a guard and another patient in the room. This may seem to be an isolated case for one of the hospitals there in the U.S. But with no one else in that room except for a guard and another patient, and seeing a patient seizing infront of them, we would expect that at least one of them would try and call for help, unless the guard was not really a guard, maybe another patient in the Psych.
At least when we speak hospitals being staffed well, from time to time, there would be some staff able to notice that there were dying patients or just patients in that room.
Is this another indication that there must be some lack of staffing in the area? Or just the hospital staffs' negligence?
