INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY ACCEPTANCE

Nursing Students Indiana (ISU)

Published

I was recently accepted into Indiana state university for the distance LPN-BSN. If anyone has attended or is attending Indiana state university could you please share your experience. How classes are set up, work load, zoom classes, clinicals, exams ect.

Hi, congratulations on your acceptance! I live in texas, and am curious how the clinical schedule is set up? Do you happen to know how competitive acceptance is? I am looking at applying and trying to get as much honest information from students before talking to the school. Thank you for any information!

Hey there! I am really not sure how competitive the program is being that I got accepted with a 74 KAT exam score. I was told by a nursing advisor that I was going to have to retake it and get at least an 80 (because it's so competitive) and was even placed on the retake exam list but shortly after I got an email saying I was accepted. I will say I had good references and I have outstanding grades in my science classes. Since most of the programs I've looked into go off of your overall science GPA I would make sure you pay attention to yours. Also I have not started the program yet so I am unsure how clinicals are set up but I do believe we are in charge of setting them up ourselves. I start the program Aug 20th of 2023. I also will only be taking Spanish 1 and 2 plus an English college course because I finished most of my classes already at my local community college so I will mainly betaking nursing classes which is really nice.  Try to finish most of the classes before applying because out of state tuition is crazy expensive and those prerequisite classes double in price once you've been accepted. If I find anything else out I'll make sure to post that! Good luck ??

Hi, I am trying to get into the Indiana online  nursing program too and I was told that I need to take the placement math test for orientation checklist. Also the Kaplan(KAT) entrance exam. I do not have any idea of what will be on the placement test. Can you tell me what to focus on Maths and science for the KAT exam, any info that might be helpful,

Thanks

this was really helpful for studying the kplan for me!
@OP what is your GPA? I got a 75 on the Kaplan and they told me even though I meet criteria I should retake it. I have a 3.7gpa, Bs in two of my Anatomy classes.
