Indiana rules for LPNS and IV meds

Published

I am really becoming confused about what I can and can't do.:uhoh3: I worked at ahospital where I was allowed to flush PICC lines, change the dressings and hang IV meds but now I work in a skilled Medicare facility where my former director said no we could not but the one says we can. Does anyone Know?

You need to look it up on your BON's website. Adn just because your BON states that it is okay, it is up to the facility to also set their own policies and procedures. A long as it is not more extensive than what the BON states, then they can state what they do and do not want the LPN to do.

What doesn't your facility's Policy and Procedures state that you may do? Do not rely just on what one person has told you. You must see it in writing.
