Hey everyone! I'm just looking for a few great nurses to throw some ideas around with!

Please come join me!!

Well, I'm not from Indiana, But my name is Leah K!!!Bethcha thought you were the only one!!!!

OMG!

I always knew there were others!

~and I love your anamae (sp?)

Welcome in and join me anytime!

Hey Leah(s)! I am a nursing student who hopes to become full-fledged (if I survive nursing school!) There is just a multitude of things to know and proceedures to follow, my instructor is judgemental and thinks we students just use clinical to socialize, I am so bogged down with studies I won't ever dig out.........but anyway, wish me luck, and let me know if you find any male nurse anime pics out there........too cool!

Well, of course I wish you the very best of luck! Your post brings back memories! I don't know if you have the same instructor I had or if some are just with that attitude, but I do believe they have to be hard on you in order for you to learn a different kind of discipline. Do your best. You will find in nursing, if you haven't already in clinicals, that there are a lot of lazy nurses, who tend to do things their way instead of the right way. It's really scarey sometimes. I see nurses give patients meds because they ask for them, without orders; give meds without looking at the MAR; give injections dangerously; ignore feedings; skip dressing changes; not use gloves; cross-contaminate; ignore medical concerns, etc. I really believe that nursing instructors cringe at the thought that one of their students might do something like that one day, therefore, they are strict, rigid, and yes, even judegmental, at times.

You hang in there! Remember what the discilpline of nursing is about, who really comes first and what your ultimate professional goal is...you'll be fine!

Let me know if you need anything.

And I'll be on the look out for male nurse anime!

Best wishes!

Lafayette, Indiana here Leah.

ER Nurse (RN)

Paramedic too.

What do you want to talk about?????

Thanks for the encouraging words, Leah! I will need them as I have already seen instances as you have mentioned......I am hoping this is due to the shortage of nurses and not due to laziness......I am trying to be optimistic! Clinicals are what has me really bugged, we have such a short time to learn these skills, are expected to remember every last nuance, and practice skills on real patients....who are really sick........sometimes it is overwhelming. I am trying to ride it out, I have put way too much effort into my schooling thus far. And not to mention the fact that there is a mere 6% of nurses who are male.......so I wouldn't be surprised if I don't find any male nurse Anime pics.....in Japan, I would guess work is even more stereotypical than here in the U.S. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement!

Hi everyone, I am new to this post. Just received my LPN and waiting to enter the RN program at Ivy Tech in Lafayette this summer. I have just started applying with temporary services in the area. Anyone else work for these services? Just wondering what may be in store for me.

Leah,

Indianapolis Nurse here. Always looking for interesting conversations about nursing.
