Indecisive

I am 19 years old and currently am working on all of my prerequisites for the nursing program. I am going for my BSN. However, last semester I had a terrible teacher who really ruined it for me at that time. It was anatomy and physiology 1 and mind you I never had to really study before for anything. I always just made good grades. So having a sucky professor AND not having good study habits made me suffer. I had a 3.4 GPA before this class. Towards the end of the class I missed the drop date and had a 70 some in there. I just quit going because I got discouraged so I missed a bunch of tests, which I got zeros for, and ended up with a whopping 35! My GPA is now a 2.7.. because I was an idiot and quit going. I am now in A&P again but I have an awesome professor and I have been making the highest grades on the tests. I have a 94 in there. And i have great study habits now. I am more than capable and more than intelligent for this field. I am a CNA and have been for over a year now which I am hoping will help out some when I apply. I only have 3 more lab sciences left and a math class before I am ready for nursing school. I have done the math and if I make all A's in those classes I have left I still only end up with a 3.2.. Because of this I have been VERY indecisive about what I want to do in the medical field now. Because of my GPA, I have been leaning towards being a PA because I have to get my bachelors which will definitely raise my GPA by the time I go to apply for the PA program because there will be many more classes and sciences I have to take. I have been wanting to be a CRNA but if I do not get into the nursing program then I cannot do that. Help on deciding what my best option is? :nailbiting:

Don't lose hope. There is a wide variation in how nursing programs compute your GPA. Some schools will allow you to only count the higher grade if you had to repeat a class. But there are usually limits - such as to how many classes you are allowed to repeat &/or only 'failed' classes can be repeated. Investigate the programs you're interested in to see how they compute GPAs for admission.

Good luck!
