In school for Radiology but considering changing to different school to become LPN

Published

Hey everyone

I am really having some difficulty deciding what I should do with my future. I know for a fact I want to go into the medical field, and always have. Lately though, I've been second guessing myself. I am currently in college completing my pre reqs for radiography and I am only in basic algebra but am DYING. The class is killing me, and I have always struggled in math. I'm considering dropping the math and just going to school to become an LPN, and then after I get that I can always go back to school for RN. I am taking the TABE test next week. Can someone please let me know how hard it is? I would really appreciate it. I just need some advice on this.. :crying2:

You'd better check with the LPN/RN programs you're interested in for prereqs. I'm pretty sure the math requirement is the same - i.e., college algebra or ability to test out of it. Also math is a big component of nursing entrance exams and you will require math competency to stay in a nursing program - you would be tested for this regularly while in the program. So hang in with the math whichever way you decide to go. The semester's still early yet - use your campus tutoring service if you need to. If you know you have to get through it you will do it.
