That is really a loaded question. You may not get as good of bennies on the road and to be able to tax deduct expenses, you must maintain a permanent residence which will cause some of your expenses to duplicate, which may mean you might be paying more out. If you don't maintain a perm. residence, everything you get is liable to be taxed. (ie, company housing or subisdy)
Right now, in some parts of the country, travel nurses are getting contracts cancelled left and right due to low census/hospitals in financial stress. I don't know that you're going to make the money you think you will..and honestly dont' think you'll do better than $40/hr.
All that being said, you could look into a company like Faststaff. They do rapid response contracts and usually offer a lot of OT. But there are issues, some people have had lots of problems with housing with them. I'd get on a travel nurse forum and start doing some research...you may find out traveling isn't what you think it will be. Feel free to PM me and I can always share more info. I traveled for 4 years.

I know the feeling of being in a financial bind. I am almost done my current contract and looking for my next. I have say that my company has a sister company that I pick up per diem with. I get at least 1-3 days a week extra without getting hit hard with taxes. (Straight pay vs OT day).
If you want the name of my company and recruiters name, PM.
Good Luck
