Hi I am a nurse in our hospital's cardiac cath lab. We will start impella this coming February and was wondering if anyone does impellas on a scheduled basis. We are a small community in southern Oregon and the hospitals around here use theirs for emergency only. We are looking for a cath lab who schedules theirs and wouldn't mind having some observers. Also having a couple of our ICU RNs shadow post-op would be great. We are looking at a February start date and would like to see it live before this. If you have any information or a contact for us it would be greatly appreciated.

What's the plan for dealing with complications? Is there CV or at least vascular surgery readily avaliable? What happens if the cardiologist wants to leave it in overnight (meaning, is ICU being brought up to speed, too). If 'no' to all above, then is there at least a workable transport plan using a qualified local transport team?
