hey guys... do you know a site where i can find notes about communicable diseases particularly about difference between hepatitis a,b,c, including their etiology, pathophysiology, treatment, diagnostic test? my clinical instructor is really scary and i cant cope up with his discussion... thanx it would mean so much to me. have a gud day!

the world health organization (http://www.who.int/en/) and medline plus (http://www.medlineplus.gov/) are two huge websites that have this kind of information. the who, in particular, educates and tracks infectious diseases worldwide. medline plus not only has an online medical encyclopedia, but provides linkage to all kind of education for patients on hundreds of medically related topics. you should bookmark these sites and go to them whenever you are looking for information on any diseases and their treatment.

here's information on your three types of hepatitis:

• http://www.hepfi.org/education/estore_info.html - information sheets on all three types of hepatitis form the hepatitis foundation international
  
• http://www.hepfi.org/pdfs/abcs_grid__jan_2006.pdf - you might want to print out this table--it summarizes all the different types of hepatitis, their incubation periods, symptoms, treatment, any vaccine that is available, who is at risk to get the disease and prevention. it is one of the information sheets listed on the hepatitis foundation international website listed above
  
• http://www.who.int/csr/disease/hepatitis/whocdscsredc2007/en/index.html - hepatitis a from the world health organization. there are 10 pages to this site you will need to scroll through.
  
• http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs204/en/ - hepatitis b fact sheet from the world health organization
  
• http://www.who.int/immunization/topics/hepatitis_c/en/index.html - hepatitis c fact sheet from the world health organization (click the link "more" to get to the second page which has extensive information)
  
• http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/hepatitisa.html - hepatitis a page on medline plus. from this page you can link to a number of other pages on the different types of hepatitis. you can also use the search box at the top of every page to type in the specific type of hepatitis you want information on.
