I've talked to a lot of friends and they've told me a lot of nursing stories. It's supposed to be a 3rd person research paper... how can I put this in my paper? It'd be roughly like the following:
Ryan George, a college student, explains how important good nursing skills are to him: "When I was 13 I was diagnosed with leukemia.. balhb albha blha my family were missionaries and the nurses in our country were terrible and would take 3x longer than they should to do my chemo. It was terrible."
Of course I'd make it sound good, but will that even work? I don't know how I'd cite it or anything.
Thanks!

it would work fine, but like you said, you have to cite it correctly, google for an APA style site, or use the APA manual, I don't have mine right here, but if I remember correctly you simply need to give him credit and use his exact words if you are going to quote. if you are going to paraphrase you don't need the quotation marks

My APA book says you can incorporate quotes fewer than 40 words directly into the text of your paper and enclose it in double quotation marks. More than 40 words you indent the whole block one tab from the left margin and do not enclose in quotation marks. The in text citation would say in brackets J.Doe,personal communication,November 18.2006.It says you do not include personal communications on your reference list.Hope this helps.
