Wow after 3 interviews I have a job in this rough economy. I am actually relocated to take this position. I applied in Feb 2010. Then I received an email inviting me to an open-house. I didnt know this open house ended up being a mass interview of 120 candidates. Approx 2 weeks later I was selected to come to the second rounds of interviews. The hospital took 30 students from the 120. we have 3 interviews 2 people in each and a drug calculation test on the computer. The same night they called me at 8pm to come for the final rounds. I arrived the same week. There was a panel of 5 nurse managers and DON'S. Following the interview I did a shadow of the floor of my choice which was ask of me during the interview. After that I went to HR for the benefits package summary. Approx 3 weeks later I received a phone and an offer letter. They picker about 6 people. of 240 that applied. The key is applying for jobs 6 mths before u finished school. I had applied to over 25 jobs. I would receive automatic responses. You dont have the qualifications or the position is filled. I applied to only new grad or residency postions. But finally i got something. You also have to be willing to move. Just get that experience 2 years and you good as gold. GD LUCK TO ALL.

Specializes in Telemetry.

Congrats!!! I have been applying before I graduated and still no job. I wish you all the best.
