I'd like members who are either RN's or LPN's to tell me about the negative views the public holds you to and the harmful stereotypes the media places you in.
Some topics you may want to tell me about are:
*Nursing burnout
*Why long term care units (nursing homes) are the least popular choice of nurses for work
*The issues surrounding men in nursing
*The issues surrounding minorities (African Americans, Mexican Americans, and Asian Americans preferably)
*The issues surrounding nurses with disabilities (Hearing loss, vision impairment, etc)
*Patients' rights to request a nurse by gender, religion, or ethnicity
*Nurses being viewed as either sex objects or "angels" and how it affects your profession
I'd prefer we stick with these topics, but if you have apparently important information for me about your profession, please share it.
