Hey all, I am a nurse in recovery that just started a PMHNP program in the Chicago area. I now have an unencumbered license, but with a public discipline. My dream is to work in addictions to help others that have been through a similar experience. My grad school recently informed me that due to my public discipline, I will be required to find a PMHNP preceptor that will acknowledge my discipline in writing to be submitted to the school. The administrators at my school explained that I will be extremely challenged to find such a preceptor, if I even find one. I don't want to give up. If anyone is or knows a possible preceptor for me, please reach out.?

I'm attempting to get into school for NP in psych. Were you successful in finding a preceptor? Also, did you have difficulty getting into school? I'm in NY and have a discipline on my record as well from about 5 years ago.

Were you able to find receptors for your NP Program?
So far I've got preceptors for 2 of my 3 clinicals. So far so good!

I have discipline on my record from the past and I am in 2nd semester of PMHNP. As long as the license where you will be doing your clinical is unencumbered, you should be fine.
