I'm very nervous about my future (HHA/LPN/School/Wife)...

Published

Hey there...was just wondering if there was anyone that did what I'm in the process of that I can look towards or something.. I'm missing a role-model and always have been; but let me explain. I'm twenty-one years young, dropped out of highschool at sixteen, in tenth grade; and have retained all of that information, with some steep, subtle and stagnant progression in a few areas - others just completely been isolated in altogether (life science/earth/plants/physics) and I've recently moved, about nine months ago, from my parents, to live with my now, wife, and she is wonderful, but in essence another 'duty'. I have school coming up on the nineteenth for my summer classes (six weeks, pre-req courses: Anatomy and Physiology, and Introduction to Healthcare), have been preparing for my TEAS test ten hours a day, for the last two days - as it needs to be done by the end of July, and now I'm going to be starting a Home Health Aid job so that I'm not starving and begging my wife for gas all the time. Is this too much?

Its tough. No other way to say it. I'll absolutely pray for you. As far as advice, pay attention in A&P. Cell biology, and metabolism is pretty much the foundation of everything else you'll do.

These may help:

I like the Dummies series, and used them to help with my cardiology section.

The anatomy stuff is just plain old brutal memorization, and I believe there's a Dummies book for A&P. They are really good for putting things in easy to understand blocks, and frequently have neat rhymes or diagrams to help you remember things.

If you can spread the time out a bit, that will help. You're under 25, so you should be able to get grant money of some kind. Good luck, bro, hang in there!

Thank you very much Rob. Do you have any suggestions for chemistry? I'm having some difficulty with things like 'kinetic vrs. mechanical' energy.

GOOD LUCK!

Thank you. I don't believe in luck, I belive in hard work. Interestingly, how did you become a Nurse? What'd you use to study?
