I really have this bad issue , I fell at work and I can't even stand up from a chair , my doctor took me off from work and this facility wants me to comeback and to do complete functional assessment on patients which requires me to provided 1-1 care when performing them . I have refused and now the insurance stop my checks . I haven't received any checks for the past 3 months , where can I go and complain about they are trying to force me to take an assignment jeopardizing patient safety, lives and my own. Someone needs to help me .

Occupational Safety and Health Administration OSHA and each states worker compensation laws govern your issue. Do you have a work comp case manager to discuss concern? Check your states regulations and consider contacting a work comp attorney for further advice. Electing short and long term disability coverage upon starting employment best for nurses as profession has higher occupational injury rates --pay is usually 60% base rate.
Thank you so much for your help . I am in a hard spot , since my accident the Director of HR has been ignoring my emails and phone messages . Also left a couple of voice messages to my DON she is new and probably doesn't want to be involved. I will call Osha since I fell due to a negligence from maintenance , the day I fell 2 other nurses fell early and we notified maintenance manager , our DON and HR director , they just didn't do anything to resolve and clean the area .My main concern right now is my health issues. I cannot even stand up from a chair , and they want to force me to perform complete functional assessments to patients in memory care unit , its such a safety concern if I cant provided them with a safety environment. thank you so much for your help , God always put angels like you and I have no one else to go to. I really appreciate your help with great gratitud . Yvette
