I am just sick of these q's! I can barely bring myself to do them anymore. Today I had all the kids at the sitter and I found everything else to do besides study. I've taken a few hours this afternoon, but really I can't take much more of this!! I went for my 'trial run' to the testing center today and just felt like walking in right then and there. I don't care anymore if "I'm ready" or not, just get it over with!!:angryfire:trout: I hear other posts saying how horrific it is, so why bother studying anymore? I know there will be a lot on there I don't know and just like trying to study for the HESI, it just seems IMPOSSIBLE!! Either you pass or you don't.It's going to be a looooooooonnnnnnngggggg 7 days! I'll probably flat line after the exam too!
I know a lot of people who felt like you. Call the testing center and ask if they had any cancellations. Call early, b/c those taking first thing have to cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
If you feel that you are as ready as you will ever be, then maybe you ARE as ready as you will ever be ... and you SHOULD just take the test and get it over with.
There is no law that says you have to do a certain number of practice questions. Each person learns in different ways. Just because some people like to do practice questions doesn't mean you have to learn best through that method.
If you need permission to stop ... then ... you have my permission. It's up to you. Do what seems like the best decision for you and then move forward.
Even if there are no cancellations you will make it. Maybe just take a break for a couple days and don't worry about doing questions. Hang out with your kids, read something NON-nursing related, whatever relaxes you.
I can relate....I did question trainer # 5 last night while my husband took our kids out to eat...after about question 80 or so, I stopped reading the questions carefully and my overall score ended up being only 58%....but I was SO tired from working full time and trying to memorize a seemingly insurmountable anount of material that I didnt even care. Today I revieved infection control/infectious diseases on my lunch break....and tonight I'm going to bed early!
Hang in there. You'll make it no matter what...and in about a week or so you can add the RN after your name! :)
