New Grad moving to IL...applying from a distance

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi everyone. I'm in TN and will be graduating and moving to IL in Dec. I'm trying to start the application process early so that I am able to start a job soon after graduation (loans coming due!!!!:( ). I know that I need to have a background check and fingerprinting done. Is there a certain background check agency I am supposed to use, or do they just do that automatically since they will receive my fingerprints? All I know is that for TN, they say that this part of the process can take up to 2-3 months and to start early, so I'm trying to get a jump on things in case IL is the same way. Thanks to anyone who may have info to donate on this area. I need and appreciate the help.

When I moved from IN to IL in 1996, there was no fingerprints required. However, that might have changed. Also - be prepared to wait - IL is pretty slow to get licensed.
